In spite of the fact that in the past the ability to
read literature in a foreign language was synonymous
with fluency in a language, today very few people would
dare to say that they know a language without being
able to speak it. On the other hand, it is important
to take into account the fact that oral expression is
inextricably connected to an aural ability, which in
the natural order of learning a language, comes before
all other abilities and, to a large extent, decides
the others.
